Most design problems aren't what they appear to be. I spend a lot of time before the first frame — understanding what's actually being asked, what needs to hold up over time, and what the work needs to accomplish beyond looking good. The goal is always the same: make something complex feel simple.

I think in terms of business value, not just visual quality. A beautiful screen that doesn't move a metric is a missed opportunity.

Systems, Not Just Screens.

I design with the second and third use case in mind — so the tenth feature costs less than the first, not more.

Solve the Right Problem.

Not as a reflex, but as a discipline. The cost of mistranslating the problem is higher than the cost of any design decision downstream.

Hi, I'm Yusei. A digital product designer based in Japan. I'm currently based in Matsuyama, my hometown, living with a wife and a dog. Growing up, I always liked things that are beautiful and functional like a good rain jacket that keeps the rain out but still makes you feel good wearing it.

I'm not usually the loudest person in the room. I like to listen before I speak and think before I raise my hand. Design is similar in that sense to me. I think it's one of the quieter ways to change how people experience their day. Not dramatically. Just a little better, a little clearer.
